Locked out of SBCGlobal email

Seems this is an issue for many SBCGlobal users. I had a friend tell me he, too, is locked out. I have had my sbc email account for over 20+ years. And one day, I'm just locked out. In the morning, I could check my email, but two hours later I'm locked out. I tried everything suggested in the forums. Nothing works. I spoke with someone at ATT, and they said they could not help me I needed to go to an ATT store, which I have not done. I followed the instructions on the forum and went to Currently and tried to log in and got the message I made too many attempts. I haven't attempted to log in in months since then. I cleared my cache/cookies, but nothing. I know the email address still receives emails because I tried to send an email to myself from another email account, and it did not bounce back. It seems to me that maybe ATT did an update (or SBC), and that may be causing the issue. Not sure, but to hear of so many other clients with the same issue, that's the only thing that makes sense.

First, we recommend attempting to reset your password on your end using these steps:

  1. Go to att.com/myatt.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

If that doesn't work, check the upper right hand corner of your page for a chat icon, it will be next to the bell icon. We will send you a direct message to assist further if needed.

Okay, that is not going to work, and I tried it in the past and just now. This is my SBCGlobal.net email. It does not have a direct link to ATT, as it was given to me years ago. So, I can't even get to the bell you are referring. I tried support in the past, and I've tried the suggestion through the preset support answers. I've even called and got nowhere. So now what?

Thank You. Giving you what you needed via the forum, and the chat, fixed the problem and I now can access my email after months and months of trying to recover it.
