Locked out of my AT&T email—AGAIN! Infuriating! AT&T, fix this!
Back in June, I got a message that I was locked out of my SbcGlobal email because "too many attempts" to access it with the wrong password were made. (I had the correct password stored in my computer since I created the email address in 2002). After much runaround, an AT&T tech got me on the phone and enabled me to set a new password and get back in the account. It's not an account I use a lot but it's important for some specific things. I was able to get into it a couple of times since then successfully.
But now I'm locked out again! When trying to sign in with the new password, I'm getting this message: "Check your entry and try again. Keep in mind, you’ll have to reset your password after too many unsuccessful sign-in attempts.
I've double and triple-checked and I'm using the correct, new password. I haven't "forgotten my User ID" and I haven't "forgotten my password."
This is unacceptable. Just one glance at the forum topics indicates it's clearly a global problem on AT&T's end.
Please tell me how I can get back into my sbcglobal.net email so this doesn't happen again.

Here's the easiest and BEST solution...Cancel all your emails with ATT and go somewhere else. Nothing but grief and huge amounts of wasted time dealing with them.

Except you can’t delete the account! I’ve had the same issue with att.net account (formerly sbcglobal). Called att, no help. Just told me to stop using it.. can’t delete.
