Locked out of att.net email account!!

When I tried to login to my att.net email account, I got the following message:

"Looks like you’ve tried to sign in unsuccessfully too many times. Recover your ID or reset your password to continue.
CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]"
This happened on the first sign in attempt. What should I do???

Let's get you signed back into your email, @gpoa5581!

Thank you for providing the error message you are receiving. Just as the message mentions, please attempt to reset your password to see if this let's you sign in. You can perform the following step to do so:

  1. Go to att.com/myatt.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.
Let us know if this helps!

I got locked out of my att.net email account. It wouldn't accept my password. I then tried to change it. It asked me to answer 2 security questions I had on file and it wouldn't accept my answers. I finally called Att and the fun started. They said the only way I could get into the account was for them to send me a temporary password via my att.net email.  Well that's crazy because I can't access my att.net email and have no secondary verifications on file.  Its been since 6/7/22 and I haven't received anything. I called back, I was transferred to several different people, the last person said that they can't verify my account because they can't access it with out me receiving the temporary password of which they sent to an email account that neither of us can access.

Nobody knows anything there but so how to transfer you to someone else, and your left explaining everything all over again. Maybe you can help us ALL out here that have this problem.  We just have no place to turn..

Having the same problem. Every time I try to log into my account I immediately get the message that I have tried unsuccessfully to log in too many times. We recently received a letter from AT&T stating that our information had been compromised. Feel dumb even asking, but does your AT&T username have to be your AT&T email address? I always assumed it did. Since so many people have access to email addresses, it certainly would be easy to lock anyone out. Only info I see is that usernames must be email addresses.

I'll be deactivating the virtual credit card that is charged for my monthly service. Maybe that'll get their attention.

I'm having the same problem. I've been having to update my password every time I log in to pay my account for months now. Which then forces me to update all my devices with the new password. ATT customer service suggested that I ensure my email address is verified. I went through that process last month. This month, once again, I'm locked out of my account on first log in attempt.  My guess is that scammers/hackers are bombarding ATT with fake log in attempts that they can't seem to handle. I've decided to dump my att email account and use a gmail for all of my correspondence. This might make it much easier to jump to a different internet/mobile provider not being dependent on an att email account.

Same nightmare here.   Why is ATT silent on this issue?
