Legacy att.net email lockout

I have been locked out of my email for 2 months, which has been happening for 2 years now over and over. I call and get passed around and finally it is reset and then 2 weeks or so later same problem. It gives an error that I have tired to log in too many times. When I have not tried to log in at all. I do have a new email set up however I still have things I desperately need to transfer over from that old email. It is probably 18 years old. PLS Help!
