I need help getting access back to my bellsouth.net email.

I read a thread in your forum about same problem

https://forums.att.com/conversations/att-mail-login-security/att-abandoning-bellsouthnet-domainsending-affected-customers-the-middle-finger/645c001e2e8515641da15f84#

I tried all suggestions listed there .

I now get message:

"Restore access

Too many sign-in attempts. To restore access, let’s make sure it’s really you. Care code 205.2

"

When I type my Last name on the screen , the system gives me a message "Hmm... that didn't work.
Check your entries and try again.".

What do I do now?

Hi @Tanit2003, we can help you to get email access Thank you for letting us know which steps you've already tried.

The 205-error code is due to bad actors who are trying to access AT&T email accounts. We're aware that this is happening to quite a few people, and we're currently working on a resolution. You can get more information about why this is happening and what we're doing to fix it in our article that discusses the dreaded 205 error code.

You can log in using Currently.

We recommend using our password reset guide and following the steps for using a temporary password.

  1. Go to http://sm.att.com/93ab36dd.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose temporary password and follow the prompts. After you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

Clear your browser's cache and cookies to remove any stored password information. Be sure to close and relaunch your browser afterward.

Let us know if this helps you, we're here if you need further assistance!
