How to Reset your Email Password using myAT&T
You are here because you can't sign in to your email or you forgot one of your many passwords. Resetting your password is one of the fastest solutions. Let's get started!
How To Change Your Password
Go to www.att.com or use the myAT&T app:
-
Login to the myAT&T app, scroll, and select "My plans & features"
-
Hit the "plus" button next to your service and select "Manage my network & email"
-
Select "Change Email Password"
Note: If you are still unable to log in after resetting your password, wait 12 hours for the system to update and try again.
Security Questions Help & Free Accounts
If you recently attempted to reset your password, you can use your account at www.att.com to reset it. Please note:
- The email must be tied to an active account for a password reset to work
- Free emails do not have the option to reset via an att.com unless there is an account tied to it
Free Email
A free email is a standalone email account that once was tied to an AT&T account. Once that account is canceled, AT&T no longer has the ability to reset your password. In order to reset your password, you must use your security questions to reset it.
If you do not remember your security questions/ answers. AT&T WILL NOT reset your account. This is done to protect personal information since we cannot validate the email address. It is like giving away the keys to your car without verifying it is belongs to you. AT&T currently has no workaround for these types of issues and is unable to assist.

I have been trying to login to my att.net account for 3 months. The tech people can't help me at all. They are more confused than I am. They have switched me from department to department. They clearly are in over their heads. They promised to call me back last night and did not! They have given me temporary pass codes 5 times and none of them will grant me access to my email. Once they started doing that, my email stopped coming to my cell phone. Each time I call they try to sell me something. While on hold they were trying to sell me coffee!!!! I don't drink coffee!!! Someone HELP! Tomorrow I will contact my State Public Service Commissioner, we are on a first name basis & I will have his office do all this work that I have been doing.

I have a user Id and a password. I am not changing it again because I just now have At&T and Direct TV accounts with the same password. The problem is...it will take my password, then say "hang on we're almost there"...and circle for ever and a day. No one seems to have an answer. How am I supposed to get information on my account?

I am unable to use the MYATT app. When attempting to log in I get a gray screen and an endless revolving blue circle. THree times I have waded through the telephone "support" process, getting different depts all unable to assist me. I repeatedly ask for tech support and am shifted to a variety of places, none of which are tech support!
I pay all my bills online thus my computer is not at fault here. I have tried with a variety of operating systems, Firefox, Google Chrome and Microsoft . Very disappointing in a company as large as ATT.

Hi @jerimg49, if you're having trouble accessing your email we're happy to help.
To clarify, were you having a problem resetting your password, or was another error appearing?
Also, what type of email account you're having trouble with (@att, @bellsouth, @sbcglobal, etc)?
Any other details you can tell us about the problem would be helpful. We look forward to hearing from you.

My bellsouth.net email account will not allow access on my windows 10 machine to incoming mail server pop3.mail,yohoo.com with either outlook microsoft 365 or windows live mail. I can access the account on my I phone and by logging on to yahoo. So I have the proper password and login name. Any suggestions?

I have been locked out of my ATT email account because I forgot my password and made too many attempts. Unfortunately I cannot access my email to change my password and I never added my phone number or an alternate email. I do have security questions but ATT will no longer use the security questions method. I am not an ATT customer so I am not eligible for technical help.
I have had my email for well over a decade and want it back. I was an ATT customer when I created my email account. If I go back to ATT service will they be willing to help me recover my email account?
