Help with CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]

A few weeks ago I stopped being able to access one of my SBC Global email subaccounts via Yahoo email. I tried signing in with the username and password directly on various other platforms, but kept getting various errors. If I tried through Yahoo, it would log me into the main account, not the sub, which was strange.

When I try to log in directly, I get this error message now: There have been too many failed sign in attempts. To get help, please visit att.com/myatt and use Forgot user ID or Forgot password links. CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]

Then, when I try the "Forget Password" link, I get this error message: "Something's gone wrong. Please refresh the page and try again."

I'm not sure what is going on. The subaccount is still listed with all the accounts, but I can't edit it, or any of my other subaccounts.

Any thoughts of how to fix this or is there a chat or number I can call to talk this out or walk me through this? Thanks.

I posted here 9 days ago, messaged twice and no response since the

"Good, Afternoon! Just an update, our team is still escalating your concern and they will reach out to for more help in the next couple days. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to reach back out. Thank you for choosing AT&T."

On the 28th of last month.

I realize they're probably swamped with this same problem from tens of thousands of people, maybe they should consider a "fix", like something that allows us (the users) to actually initiate a "reset" instead of having to go through their overworked support staff?

Since the current format needs you to access the email to initiate the reset, it's useless since you can't access the email...

Exact same issue as everyone else is having.  Except I just changed my password on one machine, cleared my cache on a second machine and tried to login.  Get rerouted to a different At&t page that then wants me to change my password again

I am able to log into my email account, but not my other AT&T accounts (digital phone).  I get the same error described above.  ("Looks like you’ve tried to sign in unsuccessfully too many times. Recover your ID or reset your password to continue.

CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]").

I've been using these accounts for the same way for years.  Then suddenly, in the past few months, I routinely get the error message above.  My devices and behavior has not changed.

What happened?

I've been asked for a code to post this, to be emailed to me.  But now I get can't get into my email on the desktop browser.  Seriously?

Thankfully my smartphone email still works.  This is crazy.

Started this round on April 18th and I'm still locked out and no response to my communication attempts (direct messaging) since April 28th.

I posted 7 months ago that I was having an issue with the Care Code 205.2 when attempting to login to my email via a web browser.  There are a few others that have received invitations to DM with support to assist in resolving this issue.  The email in question is a business account and we are now not getting emails as Yahoo is flagging them as SPAM.  I need assistance ASAP.  Community Support, if you would be so kind as to reach out to me with a DM invitation, our business would greatly appreciate it.

tonidi posted a link that really does work - you may or may not get a call from them before Monday, but they seem to know how to fix it.

Make sure you give them another email account and phone number to get ahold of you:

I called the phone number someone previously provided, 800-288-2020, and when it asked for a phone/account number I gave the system an old AT & T phone number (I don't have one currently), it didn't recognize it of course, but after two attempts with the same old phone number they connected me with a live person.  She of course spent 25 minutes and wasn't able to help me, but then transferred me to technical support where I spoke with the greatest guy who fixed the problem.  I am now able to login via Google Chrome again.  Side note for Outlook users, you will have to create a new Secure Mail Key after resetting the password, the old one no longer works.  Now my question is why is the email server flagging so many emails as spam?  A lot of the emails flagged I send/receive to/from daily.  So frustrating.  It works now.  Thanks @DotRen I will keep @tonidi 's form in mind if I run into trouble again.

I have this problem, where all of the sudden when I click my link to ATT Yahoo Webmail, I get the message, you have tried to access the account too many times, CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003].
The thing is, my email continues to work OK on my laptop with the Outlook client, and on my IPhone. I just can't use my ATT Yahoo Webmail from any browser.
The last time this happened, went into my ATT account to reset the password, and to get a security key, which I entered into my Desktop PC Outlook client. Then I updated my Iphone password, and logged into ATT Yahoo Webmail with my new password and selected save the login for two weeks.
ITS BEEN TWO WEEKS TODAY AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY ATT YAHOO WEBMAIL GETS THE ERROR AGAIN. SO WHAT I THINK HAPPENS IS THAT ATT YAHOO WEBMAIL MUST BLOCK THE PASSWORD AFTER TWO WEEKS. I DON'T SEE ANY OTHER FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM ON THIS FORUM OTHER THAN TO RESET THE PASSWORD, SO THAT IS MY BEST GUESS.

Seems to be an issue with the website.  Please fix and add a help button for future use.

Looks like you’ve tried to sign in unsuccessfully too many times. Recover your ID or reset your password to continue.

I have been getting this error since 05/10/2022 on both AT&T primary and sub-email account.  I changed the password on both primary and sub-email account on 05/10/2022.  The sub-email account got the same error again and required a password change 2 weeks later on 05/24/2022, then again 15 days later on of 06/08/2022, and now again 5 days later on 06/13/2022.  I do not have a mobile phone associated with these accounts for I do not have one to use.  I do have a landline I can use but it indicates using a mobile number.

I change the password through my "manage Sub Accounts" on the AT&T Internet Account.

How can I fix this issue??
