Help with CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]

A few weeks ago I stopped being able to access one of my SBC Global email subaccounts via Yahoo email. I tried signing in with the username and password directly on various other platforms, but kept getting various errors. If I tried through Yahoo, it would log me into the main account, not the sub, which was strange.

When I try to log in directly, I get this error message now: There have been too many failed sign in attempts. To get help, please visit att.com/myatt and use Forgot user ID or Forgot password links. CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]

 

Then, when I try the "Forget Password" link, I get this error message: "Something's gone wrong. Please refresh the page and try again."

I'm not sure what is going on. The subaccount is still listed with all the accounts, but I can't edit it, or any of my other subaccounts. 

 

Any thoughts of how to fix this or is there a chat or number I can call to talk this out or walk me through this? Thanks.

I finally got someone on the phone who walked me through it.  But I had to talk to a person for 20 minutes who could not help at all and finally I asked for a supervisor, and got one.  He said this has been happening a lot.  I suggested they may want to fix it!

@ATTHelpForums - 2 weeks ago you posted that the issue of getting locked out of our email with CARE CODE 205.2 has been resolved. Yesterday, my email account automatically logged out. Within 60 seconds I signed in again (ONE sign in attempt) but I received the CARE CODE 205.2 message.

Message I received: "Looks like you’ve tried to sign in unsuccessfully too many times. Recover your ID or reset your password to continue. CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]".  I only tried to sign in ONCE.  So, I waited 24 hours and I still receive the same message.  I am using a Windows PC.

So is there any fix for care code 205.2{LU003}?   It sounds like no.     Started getting it this weekend .

As someone posted **over a year ago**: " I can assure you after talking with three separate representatives that it isn't a matter of clearing your cache, or a simple password update. Many people are reporting this issue!"

I finally gave up and hired a tech to fix this over a week long problem. He was told "our engineers are working on it" and "call in every 24 hours for a status update".

Are you kidding me??? I use this account in my business!!

What am I supposed to do?? Leave the account I've had for over 20 years? Is that what ATT wants us to do? Why?

I recently discovered that I am not receiving emails via Outlook so I wanted to login to  yahoo email to see if they had been marked spam.  In doing this I see that I too am victim to the CARE CODE.  I tried clearing the browsers history and cookies and using the forgot password.  I have my cell phone number as a recovery option for the account and it didn't even recognize that to send me a code to gain access.  This is a business email account and I need to regain total control of the account.  Please help! :(

I finally figured it out!

My account was linked to another AT&T account.  Once I unlinked it, I could log in.

Awaiting my commission from AT&T (Haha)!

I am having this same problem. when i try to reset I get security questions which I don't know and no other option to reset without the answer. How do I reset my email password and security questions

Same issue on my sbcglobal.net account.

We've had that email for 30 years and I've never had this issue before.

My husband can access it as long as he doesn't log out, but I have not been able to login for over 24 hours, getting the CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003] error.

I got that error the first time I tried to log in on Sunday 3/13/2022.

It's very frustrating and, since we don't use AT&T any longer, I can't even contact anyone for support other than here.
