Forgot password + Security questions. How to regain access to my att.net email?
Hi everyone. My att.net email account was made more than 10 years ago when I first got at&t internet. A while ago I was forced to log out from my email and since I forgot the password I was not able to log back in, do not remember the security question answers since I made those over 10 years ago. I get to a screen that prompts me to enter my email and last name which takes me directly to the security questions screen. I assume my email still exists. Does anyone know what can I do to recover my email account? Has anyone been through something similar? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for letting us know that you've attempted resetting the password from your end.
Before we proceed, can you let us know if your email is currently associated with any active AT&T services? The reason we ask is we can not assist with password resets for free emails if you can not remember the security questions.

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately I no longer have internet/phone service with at&t, I did for a couple of years, but some years back I moved to a rural area where apparently there was no at&t coverage, so I switch to COX internet services.
However, my email account holds sentimental value to me, and I'd be willing to go through whatever necessary just for a shot at recovering my account.
I don't think I can sign up for at&t cell services, I'm still under contract with my cell provider. However, I just checked and apparently now there is at&t internet coverage area in my neighborhood, switching internet providers would be more feasible and cheaper for me.
What would be my best option when it comes to recovering my email? Thank you.

We do want to you to get your email back, chris4801.
Since you are unable to reset your password or security questions online, then a manual reset will be the next step. We can help you with that.
Moving forward, we will transition to a Direct Message, where we can talk one-on-one together. You should see a chat icon next to a bell icon at the top of page, on the right hand side. Our next message will appear there.
In the meantime, please gather all account information. Do not post it here. We will ask for it in the Direct Message.

My mother is having the same issue. We both have the same password written down but it doesn't seem to work. We know one of the security question answers but have no idea on the other since we have never had any pets.
Please help. My mom is 92 and uses her email to keep in touch with her kids and grandkids and old friends.
I've tried everything suggested but it always comes back to knowing the password or security question or being sent something to the email we can't access.

Having the same issue. Had the email account for 15-20 years, and had my password saved to my computer, and written down. Last month the stored password as well as the password I wrote down no longer worked, and it had me answer security questions (I don't remember ever setting these up). I do not see a link anywhere that asks for resetting any other way like other help fields suggest. Did my account get hacked? Can I even get my email back?

I have a similar issue. I made my account years ago and no longer remember the Security Questions, and I believe a hacker has changed my password. Can you help me with a manual reset? The ATT representatives I've talked with have not proposed this way.

I have the same issue! Please help. I have used this email account for 15+ years. My stored password and the password I have written down no longer work!?! I don't remember ever setting up security questions and I tried unsuccessfully to guess. I am not given an option to reset PW any other way. Can anyone help me access my email?
