Constantly locked out of my account for failed malicious login attempts

My att.net email has become basically unusable, because I keep having to reset my password for:

"The limit for unsuccessful sign-in attempts has been reached. Select Forgot user ID or Forgot password to restore access.

CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]"
The important thing to note here is that these are not my login attempts. After a few times, the cycle became obvious: I reset my password to something uncrackable -> malicious hacker guesses random passwords until he AND myself are locked out via this code -> I have to reset my password again.
I understand the idea behind this lockout, but it only makes sense if I'm the one trying to login with the wrong password repeatedly. I'm not. This is just a hindrance.
What am I supposed to do? I'm tired of repeating this cycle.

We understand resetting your password each time you attempt to access your email can be frustrating @zelosrules99. We do apologize for any inconvenience.

On Friday, August 26, 2022, our teams began blocking VPN Providers that were allowing bad actors to target AT&T email. They also implemented a backend fix alongside the blocks. The good news is that we are seeing a reduction in attacks. We are NOT done though - because of the nature of the issue, our email teams will continue to monitor this and take action

Our email team have place some added security measures to stop the bad actors from getting access to your account. These steps may include frequent password resets when you log in to an unrecognized device.

You can learn what you need to do to make your email safe like changing your email password, securing your computer, and more.

Please be patient as we work towards a lasting resolution.

Please feel free to reach out again if you have questions or concerns.
