Care Code 205.4 Hmmmmm/User ID

Hi there!  I have the same problem as ScubaGurl from her post dated 5/3/22 so hoping someone can help me here! 

Can't get into my bellsouth.net email either and receive the Care Code 205.4 saying " Hmmm that isn't the ID you use for this service.  Try signing in with another ID"  And it IS the user ID because I checked my profile as well as clicked the "forgot user ID" and what was sent is the same as what is in my profile.  I have also tried my email and my phone number which did not work either (and then I had to reset my password because I've tried so many times).   I've also tried clearing cookies etc as well, with no luck.

 I tried calling ATT support but all they were fixated on was trying to reset my password even though I explained I can do/have done that.  It's the User ID that is not recognized.   I have been trying to get this resolved since Friday 5/13/22  with no luck and I need to be able to access my email, especially from my lap top, for work!

Curious if you ever got back into your email. I'm having the same issue and now locked out of my account for 24 for changing the password too many times. Spent over 2 hrs on the phone with ATT support yesterday and they had no clue. They are supposed to work on it and get back to me within 72 hours. I have had this email address for 20 years and have so much information tied to this account. Unacceptable for something like this to happen.

This is not MY original post, but yes I absolutely need help getting back into my @bellsouth.net email. Nobody responded to my post about this error. I have spent over 3 hrs working with ATT tech support on the phone and all they do is reset my password which does not work. I have reset my ATT account password and can login to my ATT account and see my services and bills. I CANNOT login to my @bellsouth.net email address and as far as I can tell there is no way for me to reset that password. All I can do is reset my ATT account password but when I try to login to my email I get the error telling me " Hmmm that isn't the ID you use for this service.  Try signing in with another ID". This all started a few weeks ago when I switched over my wireless to ATT and they merged my existing Internet account with my wireless account. They asked what email address I would like to use as my login and I gave them my @bellsouth.net email address and they "merged" my accounts and now I can no longer access the @bellsouth.net email which I have been using 15+ years. EVERYTHING is tied to this account and I have not been able to access it for 4 days now.

Wbdarrow, no they have been unable to resolve the issue as of yet and frankly it’s turned into a full time job just trying to get it fixed! It shouldn’t be so difficult!  I too have spent countless hours on the phone w ATT support , then came here only to have them say they can’t help me any further (after trying to re-sync account) that I’ll have to call ATT support again, which r then l wait, explain what’s going on, get transferred multiple times only to end back at the beginning! 😡

I also have had this account for 20 years and its frustrating to not have access!

@Caraffe1 I was finally able to get into my @bellsouth.net email account after calling (877) 312-5550 which is the ATT Digital Assistant Center.

After they merged my accounts a few weeks ago they had me use my @bellsouth.net as my main ATT ID. After going into my profile and changing the ATT ID to another email address I was then able to get into my @bellsouth.net email address again. Not sure if this would be helpful for your situation, but thought I would share.
