CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003] - Suddenly happened to my account and cannot login

CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003] has started showing up as I try to log into my account and I cannot get around it.  I use a password manager, so my passwords are all saved and are entered automatically.  There is some issue with the system.  Please reach out to me to help.  Thanks,

AJ

Let's get you signed back into your email, @goddamit.

If you've been locked out of your email account, the best way to regain access is by performing a password reset. You can do that by following these simple steps:

  1. Go to att.com/myatt.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

Once your password is reset, you may want to wait up to 24 hours for your information to resync in our systems.

Let us know how these steps work for you!

Happy to help you fix the care code, A.J.

We recommend clearing your browser's cache and cookies. Not clearing it out for an extended period of time can result in login trouble and error codes, such as the 205.2 care code.

Let us know if you were able to sign in afterward, or if you still need assistance.

Hi - I continue to have this issue.  I have tried a number of times, so it would be possible that I have hit a threshold of too many attempts at this point. Please let me know how else I can access the account.  Thanks for your help.

This is a very old account and I do not know the answers to those questions - I have moved 9 times since I put my zip code into the account.  Let me know the best way to proceed.  Thank you.

This is a systemic issue, being initiated by AT&T's email system.  It happens *exactly* every 14 days.   Obviously resetting your password will restore access, but the point is that it's a chronic issue, REPEATING EVERY 14 DAYS for the customers that are plagued by this problem.

That's just not true.  There are many many hundreds reporting this issue here and most of them report being forced to do the Forgot Password thing anywhere from multiple times a day, to once a day, to once every two days.  A relatively small number report being able to stay logged in for ~two weeks and actually, yours is the first that I'm  seeing where it happens exactly at 14 days.

Regardless of when it happens, it's still a major issue that AT&T can't seem to fix even though they've had 8 months to do so.

Same thing happening to me.  I'm unable to log into webmail, however, my phone is still connected via the mail app.

@tonydi

Good point - a chronic, systemic issue regardless of the frequency...

I suspect my 14 day cycle may be correlated with the fact that I always select the 'stay signed in for 2 weeks' option during initial log-in, but who knows.

"Who knows" is the key explanation for why any Yahoo bizarre thing is happening.  😁

One forum member found that if he didn't check the box, he stayed logged in but when he did check it, he started getting logged out within a short period of time.

Who knows!?
