CARE CODE: 201 [LU100]

My mom was kicked out of her email and receives CARE CODE: 201 [LU100] while trying to login. We go to reset the password but are made to answer security questions that were never set. What are our options?

Hey there! We understand how important it is to have access to your emails. No worries, let's fix this @faulhanr.


Your account has been temporarily locked due to too many unsuccessful sign-in attempts. We recommend you check Update Security Questions and Answers.  This may help you gain access to resetting your password. Here's how to do this:

  • Go to Profile and then Sign-in info.
  • In the Online security questions section, select Change security questions.
  • Complete and save your security questions and answers.

After updating your security questions, you'll need to wait a full 24 hours before resetting your password. Attempting to sign-in before the full 24 hours will reset the 24-hour timer. Below are the steps you will take to reset password:

  • Go to http://sm.att.com/e8395130.
  • Select Forgot password?
  • Fill out the password info.
  • Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  • Create your new password.
