Can’t reset my bellsouth.net password once I transferred cell service to verizon

I have an older bellsouth.net email address, and now that I no longer have ATT cell service, I do not receive the verification code to update my email address on my cell phone. I can’t get to an actual person when I call 800-282-2022.

Glad to help you reset your email password, rcriley.

We'll have to send you a Direct Message to gather your information and see if we can send you a temporary password, so you can sign in.

There will be a chat icon in the upper right corner of the forum page once the message has been sent. Once we're there, we'll verify your email address in chat or over the phone, then get started.

Once you're signed in, we recommend that you do the following:

Update your contact email in case you're ever locked out and need to receive a temporary password:

  1. Go to your myAT&T Profile. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Scroll to Sign-in info and choose Edit for your email.
  3. Follow the prompts to make your updates.
  4. Check your email inbox to verify your email address. Don't see an email? Make sure you check your spam or junk folder.

Set up text messages for password resets. This is another option to receive a temporary password if you ever have trouble signing in:

  1. Go to Profile and sign in with your AT&T Mail address and password.
  2. Select Sign-in info.
  3. Scroll to My linked accounts and select Manage email.
  4. Select Edit user information.
  5. Enter your wireless number and check Use this number to reset your password.
  6. Select Save Changes.
  7. Complete any final steps sent to your wireless number within 24 hours. Text message rates and other charges may apply if you don’t have an AT&T Wireless number. Check with your plan and provider.

Update your security questions and answers:

  1. Go to your myAT&T Profile. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Scroll to Sign-in info and select Change your security questions.
  3. Complete and save your security questions and answers.
