can't log into to bellsouth.net email because it asks for a recovery phone number, no codes received

I can't log into my email on my phone but not on my laptop. It asks for a recovery number, which is not ATT. when I put in my number and hit send code. None is received after about 20 attempts.

We understand how important it is to have access to your email account, and we'd be happy to help with the verification code that you haven't received @Clementde.

We've got some great information here on setting up text messages for password resets.

If you don't have an AT&T Wireless number:

Go to Profile, then Contact info.
On the Phone tab, select Edit in the Billing phone numbers section.
Enter your wireless number as the primary or secondary number.
Check the box next to Use this number to recover your user ID or reset your password.
Select Save.
Complete any confirmation steps sent to your wireless number within 24 hours. Text message rates and other charges may apply. Check with your plan and provider.
