Cannot log into web mail

When I try to log in to att.net email, my husband's email address is in the user name box. I delete it and type in my email address and my password and it keeps reverting back to his. He passed away and I deleted his account, so I don't know why it does this.

Hi there, beatricembabazi. We can help you get you logged back into your email again.

The easiest way to get logged back into your email is by going to AT&T/Yahoo, then follow these steps:

  1. After going to that link, click on Sign-In on the far top right hand side of the page.
  2. Enter in the full email address and new password (since you have just changed it.)
  3. If successful, the page will refreah and you should see an envelope icon.
  4. Click there and it should take you to your email inbox.

There is an alterate path to take as well. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to AT&T.
  2. Use the drop down next to My AT&T and click on Sign-In.
  3. Enter in your full email address and password.
  4. Click on Profile.
  5. Scroll down the My Linked Accounts
  6. Click on the blue Check email, on the left hand side.

Please let us know if you are able to get back into your email again.

Hi, @LeAnne57, we would be happy to help get you signed back into your email.

We recommend starting by clearing your cache and cookies, this can help by removing previously saved information in the browser.  We also suggest resetting your password, as this will re-sync your email account with the system, and can assist in resolving many common sign-in issues.  Finally, for AT&T email services, we prefer you use Currently when signing in, as this is AT&T preferred method.

Please let us know if the above recommendations help resolve this for you.  If not, we will need to take a closer look at your account in a Direct Message, where we can see about manually resetting and re-syncing your information.

In my case, my laptop got stolen and someone tried to login into my att.net email. Good enough I immediately got a failed login notice. However, after changing my old password, the system logged me out, and up to now I haven't yet figured out how to access my account again.
