Cannot log in. Says too many attempts.
I have been trying to log into my email account for 2 days. Says too many attempts, although I've only tried about 5 times each day. My user name and password are correct. I can't log in to change the password. How can I change the password without logging in?

Yep, same for me. In addition to this, I also get the you cannot make a long distance call on my landline even when I'm calling businesses in my area code or cell phones in my area code. I've called them about this and when I have the guy on the phone I couldn't get it to do it. It just did it again yesterday. Even if I enter in the full 11 digit number or whatever.

So I am having this same issue just like everyone else under the sun, except I have no ability to reset my password because I set my security question answers when I was like 10 so I have no clue what the answers to them could possibly be. Does anyone know of any other way to reset your password or any other workaround to this ridiculous issue? I had access on the mail app on my phone until now. I just need to get access for a week so I can see what I've missed and get all of my stuff moved over to another email that actually works reliably. Any help is appreciated thanks!

You can call support and if you can verify enough of your information, they should be able to help you reset the password.
If you do call in, be prepared to wait. It takes a long time to get through. They have access to the question answers and will allow you to take a guess or two. So if you have any recollection of what the answers might be, it's worth a shot.
In addition to the security questions, there should be an email associated with the account to try to re-enable your access.
You should also have a passcode associated with your account. I think it's 4 digit number.
If you have an AT&T branded cell phone and have it attached to your account. I think you can use that to restore access as well.
They may force you to go into an AT&T store to verify it's really you with some sort of ID. It has to be a company owned store so you need to call ahead and make sure your local AT&T store is one of them.

@Tanquen Thank you for the response. What support number did you end up calling? I'm having a hard time finding a phone number and I don't want to sit on the phone for 30 minutes only to get told that it's the wrong number. Thanks!

I have the same problem routinely with one of my email addresses. Every time I try to sign in, on the first try it says the "the limit for unsuccessful attempts"... shows up. I have to
forget password, enter the same password and it works. How can I fix this?

I should clarify - I enter the old password as the new password and then it works for that day. The next day it's the error message again.
