Cannot log in. Says too many attempts.
I have been trying to log into my email account for 2 days. Says too many attempts, although I've only tried about 5 times each day. My user name and password are correct. I can't log in to change the password. How can I change the password without logging in?

So some bot tries to spam your account with logins attempts and you get locked out even when you come back later with the correct account name and password. That doesn't seem like the best way to handle it.
Microsoft Outlook and my email app on my phone can still read email from the server. It just seems like a mess up on their end somehow. I wish they would just fix it.

This has been happening to me about every 2 weeks for the last 6 months. AT&T will well aware of this issue and so far haven't done a (Edited per community guidelines) thing to fix it. I am paying for services that I can't use. I am about to move to a carrier that knows how to fix their (Edited per community guidelines)

Hey,
There are two reasons why you are not able to log in 1st is that may be you entered the wrong email and password and 2nd is that your account may be suspended.
Cheers.

1. Using the same user name and password that I've had for the last 6 months or so.
2. The same user and password still works with Outlook and the cellphones mail app.
3. The error message and prompt take you nowhere and leave you in a loop and locked out.
4. AT&T makes it all but impossible to get help.
5. Many here have asked about it for months or a year and AT&T has done nothing.

They are well aware of this issue and have not been able to resolve it in over 6 months. Surly there is at least one person in this big world that can figure this (Edited per community guidelines) out because I am sick of having to call every other week for the same (Edited per community guidelines) password reset. Those of us that use email for work are screwed. I, for one, am sick of paying for services that I cannot use. After over 17 years, I am ready to leave this crap company. They were great until they started outsourcing everything. Just give me the (Edited per community guidelines) services that you are taking money from me for! You guys charge way more than other providers yet you can't fix a simple password problem? If you can't provide the services your customers pay for then you should return their hard earned money for wasting our time and frustrating the (Edited per community guidelines) out of people and then making them try to talk to someone that doesn't even understand them. It is ridiculous. Also your 5G (Edited per community guidelines)!

Yes, still having the same problem here and they basically make it impossible to contact support. You post in the forum here and no one can really help. They have an online app that's very difficult to use and if you move away from the app your question goes away. It's directed to forum members that are supposed to be really good or something and they say to just contact support but there's no way to contact support. When you go to their web page they do everything they can to misdirect you away from contacting support. There was a way to try but you have to login to access it. And I cannot log in.
If only AT& T wasn't such a tiny rinky-dink company that only has one guy in their IT department.

It's not a secret or hard to contact "support". 800-288-2020
Don't expect anything other than the stuff you see here. AT&T doesn't have a fix for this problem which is close to approaching 8 months since it began.

The problem is all email clients must be re-activated every time the message is displayed:
"Looks like you’ve tried to sign in unsuccessfully too many times. Recover your ID or reset your password to continue.
CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]"
This has become a real pain when there are multiple devices and email clients involved. You would think a tech company the size of AT&T would have a solution for this issue!😒😒

I have an old email account that used to be with SBC, but it's with ATT now. Everytime I go to sign in now it says I made too many attempts when I have made only one! This happens everytime now, and I have to call ATT, which takes forever. Why are you doing this to me. Why can't the account just work like it always did. What is your problem! I'm disabled, not super computer literate, and can't deal with this!
