Cannot access old pacbell.net account

I have had this pacbell.net account since the dawn of emails, when email addresses were limited to 8 characters. Pacbell became sbc-global which became att which became yahoo. Someplace along the way, two security questions were added by some system (the answers to which I do not know), and recently, the password stopped working. The password reset mechanism sends to the account I cannot access, and the alternative mechanism requires answering the two security questions. Yahoo customer service says to contact att customer service which says they cannot help. 

So, I am basically trying to regain access to this account by an alternative process, which I hope you can explain to me. 


I am willing to pay for a recovery service if it comes to that.

Since you have followed the password reset flow already, we are going to skip that part. In order to move forward, you will see chat icon, next to bell icon, in the upper right part of this thread, next to your forums profile icon.

 

If you do not see the next message right away, please log out of your forums account and log back in or click into your browser's address bar and press F5 to refresh the page.

Dear AT&T employee,

I got a new cell phone Pixel Pro8, all transfers from the old cell phone went through, including my gmail account which I use for communication with my friends ONLY.

However my [email scrubbed] account did not transfer.

This one is a major account for my work (very old and never changed), my communication with my doctors, all other serious necessary communication.

PLEASE advise how to install it and get it to work on my new Pixel Pro8.

I still can access my [email scrubbed] on my computer, but I do need it on the cell phone.

This is a public forum, not official support. So any info such as your email was visible to the entire world until either the forum automatically or a moderator manually removed it for you.

You also posted in a thread from 2022 so info is out of date. The ATTHelp group no longer sends a Private Message (PM) through the forum as of a little while ago. Official support is back to normal where you call them.
