can not log into my email

when I try to log into my email on the AT&T server the site has me change my profile. When I type in the correct information and give a cell phone number to get a 6 digit code. I type in the code and get an error stating something when wrong and try again later.  I have been trying this process for the last 4 days.  Please advise.

Hi @slsterry! Thank you for reaching out to us. We understand that you're facing issue accessing your sbcglobal mail account on your computer. We hear you, and are happy to assist you.


Please try resetting your mail account's password.

  1. Go to reset your password.
  2. Enter your user ID and the last name associated with your ID.
  3. Choose your verification method and follow the prompts.
  4. Enter and confirm your new password.

Check for browser issue:

  • Open AT&T Mail in a different web browser. For example, if you normally use Google Chrome, try Firefox.
  • Verify that your browser accepts cookies. If so, clear your cookies and cache. You’ll find this info in your browser's Preferences, Settings, or Options menu.
  • Enable JavaScript, and make sure it’s up to date. You’ll find it in your browser’s Settings or Options menu.
  • Disable browser tools or add-ons to see if they’re causing issues with email access.
  • Enable Adobe Flash Player and make sure it’s updated.
  • Check the settings of your firewall, antivirus programs, and anti-spyware software. They can cause a conflict with email programs and web browsers. Disable them one at a time and try to access your email. Don't forget to turn them back on once you know they aren’t causing the problem.


You can also try accessing your email account on the web:

  1. Go to
  2. Select Mail.
  3. Enter your email address and password.
  4. Get your authentication security code. If you have more than one phone number on your account, choose which number should get your code.
  5. Enter the code and click Submit to sign in.

Thank you for your reply. I logged into my AT&T account and changed the user name to my email address and changed the password. Now all is well. I have access to my email through the Yahoo mail site. Thank you again
