Bellsouth.net Email - Sign-in Help, Questions, and Answers

Troubleshooting Bellsouth & SBCGlobal Email Addresses

Announcement

AT&T is making your email experience more secure. A part of this change is a prompt requesting you re-enter your password which may affect your ability to sign-in to your email, especially if you cannot remember your password. You will find steps that will help you address your sign in woes. If you have a mail client, you may need to update your settings with our step-by-step guide. in order to access your email given the change.

Can’t sign in or Forgotten Password:

If you have a current AT&T internet account that is tied to your email, you can change or reset your password by performing the following:

  1. sign in to your AT&T account.
  2. Select Profile > myAT&T sign in Password.
  3. Enter and save your password information.

If you have a free email account, you can reset the password at our email reset page.

  1. Go to Forgot Password page.
  2. Enter your User Name/ email address.
  3. Enter your Last Name.
  4. Follow the prompts.

If you are unable to change your password using the steps above, please chat with us. Please note, if you are unable to verify the account, we will be unable to reset your password. Think about it this way, if someone contacted us pretending to be you and did not know the security questions, would you want them to have access?

Heads Up: If the last name on the record does not match, the password reset option may not work. If you have an old billing statement, please verify what name you used.

I just called AT&T and was told there's a known issue today with email related to the Yahoo platform (he said he didn't think it was just bellsouth addresses), but no ETA on when it will be fixed.  Hoping it's soon - have sent out time-sensitive emails this afternoon!

I have no att account

You have an SBCGLOBAL.NET e-mail address.  THAT is your AT&T account.  Log in with that.

So then I try to reset password and it asks me for my email again and last name which I enter. Then it asks me security questions which I answer but they are incorrect. What do I do now? I don't recall ever making an att account.

Apparently using the @ username to page ATTHelp does not work since they're on a different software package than what us customers use.

As JefferMC said, call.  800-288-2020.
