Bellsouth.net Email - Sign-in Help, Questions, and Answers

Troubleshooting Bellsouth & SBCGlobal Email Addresses

Announcement

AT&T is making your email experience more secure. A part of this change is a prompt requesting you re-enter your password which may affect your ability to sign-in to your email, especially if you cannot remember your password. You will find steps that will help you address your sign in woes. If you have a mail client, you may need to update your settings with our step-by-step guide. in order to access your email given the change.

Can’t sign in or Forgotten Password:

If you have a current AT&T internet account that is tied to your email, you can change or reset your password by performing the following:

  1. sign in to your AT&T account.
  2. Select Profile > myAT&T sign in Password.
  3. Enter and save your password information.

If you have a free email account, you can reset the password at our email reset page.

  1. Go to Forgot Password page.
  2. Enter your User Name/ email address.
  3. Enter your Last Name.
  4. Follow the prompts.

If you are unable to change your password using the steps above, please chat with us. Please note, if you are unable to verify the account, we will be unable to reset your password. Think about it this way, if someone contacted us pretending to be you and did not know the security questions, would you want them to have access?

Heads Up: If the last name on the record does not match, the password reset option may not work. If you have an old billing statement, please verify what name you used.

I cannot access my sbcglobal.net email account. It just happened today. I have tried all of the reset recommendations and many other "so-called" fixes that don't fix anything. How do I get back into the account that I have had for 20+ years !!!!!?

Dear Jayrome1,

Did you find a fix for your sbcglobal.net email account?

This just happened to me a couple weeks ago and I am so frustrated!  Nothing I've read so far has helped.  Please, someone - anyone?  Did you figure it out?

I've even been trying to find YouTube videos without luck  :(

My bell south.net email will not come in on my MacBook Air. It does come in on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. Gmail comes in just fine on my Mac, but bellsouth will not receive or send from my Mac. How can I fix this?

 Thanks!

Answers to my security questions are rejected and therefor I cannot reset my bellsouth.net password. Solution?

AT&T says my alternate email at comcast.net does not work. Are the people working at AT&T going for some type of (Edited per community guidelines) award? I get emails everyday at the comcast.net email. More than I can say about the AT&T take over of bellsouth.net!

Comcast email is going away. Wonder if some providers are rejecting those early in preparation.

Can someone DM me as exact same problem for my wife who can get @sbcglobal.net emails on her tablet but not her new phone and we need to reset password and seem caught in catch-22 trap.  So if they can email her temp password she can then reset it would be wonderful.

Let's get you back into your email, @rjeffreys

You can follow these steps to reset your password:

  1. Go to http://sm.att.com/19ce05f1.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

If you're still not able to reset it after trying this, let us know so we can manually reset it for you!

Emails to my Bellsouth.net email address are getting bounced with message that the bellsouth.net domain could not be found.  Issue just started this morning apparently and has gotten worse.
