Bellsouth.net Email - Sign-in Help, Questions, and Answers

Troubleshooting Bellsouth & SBCGlobal Email Addresses

Announcement

AT&T is making your email experience more secure. A part of this change is a prompt requesting you re-enter your password which may affect your ability to sign-in to your email, especially if you cannot remember your password. You will find steps that will help you address your sign in woes. If you have a mail client, you may need to update your settings with our step-by-step guide. in order to access your email given the change.

Can’t sign in or Forgotten Password:

If you have a current AT&T internet account that is tied to your email, you can change or reset your password by performing the following:

  1. sign in to your AT&T account.
  2. Select Profile > myAT&T sign in Password.
  3. Enter and save your password information.

If you have a free email account, you can reset the password at our email reset page.

  1. Go to Forgot Password page.
  2. Enter your User Name/ email address.
  3. Enter your Last Name.
  4. Follow the prompts.

If you are unable to change your password using the steps above, please chat with us. Please note, if you are unable to verify the account, we will be unable to reset your password. Think about it this way, if someone contacted us pretending to be you and did not know the security questions, would you want them to have access?

Heads Up: If the last name on the record does not match, the password reset option may not work. If you have an old billing statement, please verify what name you used.

Well it did not work since the servers keep rejecting my password. Is there a fix for this problem, and yes I can sign in through yahoo with the same password, but this is a hit or miss depending on the browser, since chrome is having problems but Firefox works. I have tried with both Microsoft Mail and Outlook, both have the same issue but Mailbird works (I hate the program)

My E-Mail kicks me out after a few minutes of use. Then I have to log in again and again and again. My head spins. What happened ? A recent upgrade to the mail service?

This is ridiculous that this issue cannot be resolved. Now I am locked out since last Friday, att site says email not a valid email address, no way to reset password.  There has to be some work around for this?!

For several years, I have had two email addresses-one for business and one personal. One is a Bellsouth account and the other is ATT. Both accounts are accessible on my Ipad and Iphone, but not on my computer. Until a few months ago, I was able to toggle back and forth between the two under my sign in on my computer. My account shows the Bellsouth address as primary, even though the only account I'm able to use/see on my computer is the ATT account. How do I resolve this issue? Thanks.

We would be happy to help you get back into your email account @Kanella!

AT&T has made accessing your email more secure. Are you going through Currentlycom to sign in? You may try resetting your password through the Currently website if the user name and password you have still does not work.

If you are attempting to access your emails through a client such as Outlook or Apple Mail, ensure you have a Secure Mail Key setup. This is a requirement while using email clients only.

We also have a Ufix tool that can walk you through the steps to help you recover your email access, follow common topics > email setup and repair.

Please let us know if this helps resolve the issue!

There is hacking via some type of backdoor access on bellsouth.net accounts. There are no 2FA options so someone has full access to these accounts. They simply request a new password, lock the user out and go about causing trouble. ATT needs to check out who is hacking these accounts

My bellsouth.net emails stopped working on my Samsung Galaxy a couple months ago.  It is set for Pop 3:  Inbound.att.net and the outgoing as SMTP.mail.att.net.  What is wrong.  I even tried using att.yahoo.com and no results.
