Att.net Email Password Reset Help

I have had an "att.net" email for over a decade. About 3 weeks ago my email kicked me off and then started saying my password was incorrect.

*This is a free email account, I do NOT have any att services connected to this email.* However, I have a backup email associated with my account and believe my phone number is also associated with the account.

My question is, when I request to reset the password it takes me to security questions that I have no clue what the answers are (I set up this account when I was like 12 years old, things have changed since then). I do not get the option to use a temporary passcode. WHY is this happening?? This email is my primary email - literally everything I subscribe to, pay bills with, etc is linked to this email and now I can't access it.

Important to note I am somehow still logged in to the att.net email on my computer. So if a temporary passcode can be sent  that way, I would LOVE to be able to use this option.

Any help is much appreciated.

We understand how important your email is, LoRow, let us see what options we have for you to reset your password!

We'll send you a Direct Message to get started. Look for the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page.

Once you're able to sign in, we recommend updating your security questions and answers and setting up text messages for password resets, in case this happens again in the future.

I am commenting on this post because I was told I could wait 30 days and receive help on resolving this issue. If I could get in contact with someone via chat to do this, it would be much appreciated.
