Do you use any browser extensions / plug-ins or security programs (Norton, McAfee) that might be interfering?

Try opening the mail session in an Incognito/InPrivate window and see if it still logs out (an incognito window disables plugins)

@phillipremaker I'm not sure who you were addressing in your messages with helpful suggestions, but I can say from my own experience that changing passwords, using incognito window or different browsers does not resolve the hourly time out problem with my @bellsouth.net email.  ATT has acknowledged it is aware of the problem and is working on a solution.  Some people have reported difficulty in logging in to their accounts, but that's not what this thread is about.  If a security program is interfering with maintaining open access to webmail via Currently.com for more than an hour at a time, then there is a much bigger problem that needs to be resolved in some way other than disabling virus software programs which is never a good idea in my opinion.  For whatever strange reason, several users including @Deadeye have reported that the time-out issue mysteriously resolves itself without them having to take any extraordinary steps.  And so, we wait, and wait, and wait for ATT to fix the problem.

@NewName - You both seem to have the same issue. Yahoo is the mail provider, but AT&T is the authentication provider, and AT&T provides authentication services to the the legacy subdomains (@bellsouth, @sbcblobal, etc) and the main domain att.net.

This is all powered by Oauth, and Yahoo has to recognize the authentication tokens. But, this collection of multiple layers of authentication is super tricky. In my case, I spent 6 weeks trying to understand how att.net, sbcglobal.net and yahoo.com all decide how to trust each other's cookies.

So, how *exactly* this all works, I am not sure. But this is a pretty advanced problem interconnecting how Yahoo understand the authentication tokens generated by AT&T and the subdomains. My guess is that there is some low timeout set on an auth token somewhere OR some auth token getting overwritten by something else.

In her case, it depended on WHAT ORDER she did her login! Some logins implicitly signed out other logins. It was crazy.

If you are telling me that the timeout happens even in the incognito window with no other activity, that you may have a different issue.

@DeadEye57 @phillipremaker @BBAM @Idiott22

Good news my webmail has not timed out so far today and I've been on it for about 5 or 6 hours so far.  The only thing I finally did was change my password yesterday morning, but the time out continued happening all afternoon.  Maybe shutting down the computer overnight after changing the password made something magically happen.  I'm grateful for whatever it was.

Still broken here. Hope I’m somewhere on the list. Seems odd that they implement a solution that only resolves it for some people and not everyone.

We're here to assist with your email, @dgow888!

We recommend resetting your password as this re syncs your account. Doing this has corrected this issue for other customer's in the past. Here are the steps to do so:

  1. Go to att.com/myatt.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

Let us know if this helps! If not, we have a few more things we can try.

Well, I had to change my password this morning even though I had checked the stay logged in box.  Since then I have been logged off twice.  So it looks like the problem is back!
