I found my old account number for when I last had landline service with SBC.  Does this solve the problem?

Sure, SBC became AT&T.  As always, finding anyone at AT&T who understands how to approach this is a crapshoot.  One of those is asking for the Digital Assistance Center when you call. Even if you get connected to them, no telling what they can do.

If you fail there's always the FCC Complaint avenue which will get you a phone call from the Exec Care team at AT&T's Office of the President. But those people, who used to be tremendously effective in getting things done, seem to have really dropped as far as solving issues.  They recently removed the form on att.com that led directly to them.  🙄

@Carol_Scherf   Please find the Edit function in the 3 dot menu next to the date/time on your last post.  Remove the phone and account numbers.  This being a public forum, you don't need anyone to have those and try anything with the info.

As far as the info itself, only AT&T can determine if that's helpful.

Just when you thought things could not get any worse, surprises lurk in every corner.  In lieu of writing 3 checks each month to AT&T, I have billing for my cell service, DirecTv, and the AT&T Ford wifi hotspot service bundled so I only get 1 bill.  Whenever the AT&T email "intelligence" decides to log me out from the server, I have to go through the steps of logging in again acting as though I am changing the password which requires me to login again from my cell phone.  Yesterday, I called AT&T support regarding the Ford wifi hotspot in my truck not working.  Because my account is set up for combined billing, the solution was to unbundle the billing and delete the wifi hotspot service account.  I was asked not to drive my truck for 2 hours while they established a new wifi account and send the new account data service to my truck.  When I had to login again for the wifi hotspot service, I had to go through the same "new password" antics to gain access to my separate wifi hotspot account!  Unbelievable.  Who is responsible for writing the code to intermingle the many AT&T systems and why would they want to do such?!?  Things that make you go HMMM.

Yes, clowns. Thank you for your direction. I contacted the FCC and have already heard from them twice. Asking ATT to connect me to the Digital Assistance Center got me a flat "no."

No??  Not, let me transfer you, ooops, I "accidentally" hung up on you?  Just NO?  Wow.

🤦‍♂️

When you say you've been contacted, it was by the Exec Care team at AT&T, right?  I don't have a good sense of the timeframe like I did with the direct form.  How long from when you submitted the FCC complaint until the first phone call?

Also, what are they saying when they've called?

I emailed after receiving your email about contacting Digital Assistance Center, where I was denied. So, last night. I received an automated email within a few hours, and this morning I received another email explaining the process the FCC would take. I got a personal phone call about 45 minutes ago from the FCC, and I AM IN! She warned this will probably keep happening for awhile but to just keep trying. For now, I will save contact addresses and print out important docs that I need on paper. Thank you so much for your direction!

Excellent!

That had to be an AT&T person since the FCC has no way to access AT&T's system to make any changes.

So what did they ask you for, the account number, other details?

Sorry for all the questions but since you have a real-world success story the info you can provide will go a long ways to helping others here with the same issue.

Well AT&T is at it again.  I'm not sure if someone is trying to hack into my account or their equipment is archaic.  I've had to change my password 20 times this month alone (almost everyday) because even though I put my correct password in (I double check that) I get a message that says there have been too many attempts on my account and I need to change my password.  I really don't understand why this is happening but I can tell you I'm really, really tired of it.  So ridiculous.  And on top of all this hassle they raised my monthly internet bill.  Anyone else having this same issue?  If so what did you do to resolve it?

Thanks!
