AT&T Deleted My Email without my Consent

I have had a bellsouth email for a minimum of 15 years, and whenever the time period was when AT&T took over Bellsouth.net, they must have deleted my email or something like that because when I am trying to get access to my email, it says it doesn't exist. Worse than that, they have a horrific customer support line. I have archived all my chats with them and they stated with assurance multiple times on different occasions that "your issue will be my top priority and we will get it resolved within 30 minutes". This has been a major lie with no follow ups and usually ends the conversation with "we will have an expert contact you via phone shortly" to which I give all my contact information and then I never receive a follow up email or phone call. My email has a lot of important accounts tied to it which I cannot access because I can't get into my bellsouth account which supposedly doesn't exist anymore. I would really like some help from someone who actually knows what they are doing rather than someone lie to me and spew false information that is clearly higher than their authority or ability.

AT&T "took over" bellsouth.net when they purchased BellSouth 16 years ago.  If you're just now noticing that your e-mail is gone after all that time, it may have been deleted due to abandonment.

The chat service is staffed by an outside company who markets their ability to upsell to your customer base as part of the support interaction.  That should tell you about how much that the chat person cares about providing quality service... they just want to sell you something.

I appreciate a quick response Jeffer. So my question is if I had used my bell south email in mid to late 2020, is that considered too long of a period of time to bring about a consideration of abandonment. Among other important things it is linked to my Facebook which I cannot get access into now but more importantly Authenticator codes for other financial app and profiles I have. That is where my issue lies with trying to get back into the account and the support crew claiming they’ll fix it shortly and with no issues, but then nothing happens.

If you used your account in 2020, I imagine it is still there. 


AT&T has had some issues with their authentication system and many, many users lost access to their accounts, displaying one or another of a handful of symptoms.  You have to stick with AT&T support and nag them to get access back to your account.  If you are still a customer, that's an easier thing to do.  If you are not, then support for a "free e-mail account" is near to non existent.

Even worse, I was told I'd be getting a call between 3-4 today and never got a call. It's even worse that I am an active AT&T customer and still can't get anyone to help. When you try to talk with them on the chat assistant, every single one of them tells you "no problem at all we will get this solved for you very shortly" and then they can't and they transfer you where you have to start all over and you still end up getting nowhere. In terms of customer service, this is a 1/5 star rating. Absolutely absurd.
