All my att.com email accounts say out of date. I follow the prompts then reset password. The new password goes through then a screen comes up and says, "Something went wrong. We're sorry we weren't able to do that. Error code0x8019019a".

Can anyone help.

Hi there, @4011Webb. We understand that you have a concern about your email accounts being out of date. Also, you are getting error code: 0x8019019a. We can help you with those things.

It looks like you have a couple of things going on here. First you are trying to reset your password on the browser, and it looks like the browser is looping. Please follow these simple tips and tricks to remedy this:

  1. Clear the cache, cookies and saved passwords from your browser. The browser saves information and that information can get corrupt. The aforementioned article has steps for every browser and even mobile device browsers.
  2. After clearing the cache, close the browser down or restart the device that you are working with.
  3. Reset your password one more time.
  4. After setting your password, please go to AT&T/Yahoo
  5. Click on Sign In
  6. Enter in your full email address and new password
  7. Click Sign In
  8. The page should refresh and then you can click on the envelope icon
  9. Now you should be in your inbox.

The error code that you're getting looks like it is a email client error. Normally, that means that the new password has not been updated with the new password. However, things have changed slightly from when your client was first step up. The new process for email clients is called Oauth/Secure Mail Key. This article will give your more information about the new updates. To create the Secure Mail Keys, for the email client, you can use the Create Secure Mail Key support article.

To help you on your way to success, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Profile and choose Sign-in info.
  2. Select the email account that needs a secure mail key. (You’ll find a menu at the top if you have multiple accounts.)
  3. Scroll to Secure mail key and select Manage secure mail key.
  4. Choose the email address that you’d like to use, if you have more than one.
  5. Select Add secure mail key and then enter a nickname for the secure mail key to make it easier to recognize.
  6. Choose Create secure mail key.
  7. Select Copy secure mail key to clipboard. Make a note of your secure mail key, so you have it handy if you need to update an email app on several devices.
    • For security purposes, the secure mail key only displays until you select OK
    • If you lose or forget the secure mail key, you can create new secure mail keys.
  8. Select OK.
  9. Go to your preferred email app and replace the existing password with your secure mail key. For an IMAP account, delete the existing password for both the IMAP and SMTP servers and replace them with your secure mail key.

Also, there is one more update, and that is the email servers themselves. You can use this Email Settings support article, to make sure that your email settings are up-to-date.

Please update us and tell us if this is of any help you.

Thanks for being an AT&T subscriber and have a good weekend.
