Accidentally Created An Account Using Incorrect Domain & Now Locked Out

Hello, I am currently facing a dilemma & was wondering if I can get some sort of assistance. So basically, I have an "example@sbcglobal .net" email but accidentally created an account on a website as "example@sbcglobal .com". The domains are different so I cannot receive a password reset to gain access to the account in question. I know that "sbcglobal.com" does not exist but AT&T owns the domain. I have tried to contact AT&T phone # to reach the domain administrator but no one answers. Is there any way to fix this? My apologies if I sound silly for technology is not really my forte, any help would be much appreciated.

Hi @mystahg! Thank you reaching out to us! We understand that you're trying to access your AT&T email account, and we're here to assist you.

Please try resetting password from the below provided steps:

If you're unable to reset or access your email account, please fill out the web form. Please visit 'att.com/myemailinfo' and provide at least 5 answers in the mandatory fields denoted by an asterisk in the web form. Fields include:

  1.  Email address to be recovered.
  2. First name, Last name, and Zip Code on the account.
  3. Contact information (mobile number, alternate email, best time to contact).
  4. Devices recently used to access the email account (PC, Mac, iPhone, Android etc.).
  5. Browser/Email client recently used to access the account (e.g., Chrome, Safari, Edge, Outlook).
  6. Year of birth provided at account setup.
  7. Recent sent email messages (recipient email address, subject, date/time).
  8. Personal folders created in the email account (e.g., "Kids school", "Vacation", etc.).
  9. Recent email account activity (date of last known password reset).
  10. Account information of other AT&T services (Broadband, Wireless, etc.).

Once the form is submitted, a specialty group will review the submission and attempt to contact you as soon as possible.

Also, you can always create a new AT&T mail account as it does not require you to have a active ATT service.

  1. Go to currently.com and select Sign In.
  2. Choose Create AT&T Account.
  3. Enter your wireless number and ZIP Code. We'll text you a confirmation code.
  4. Enter the code and select Continue.
  5. Complete the info to create your new AT&T email address and password.
  6. Enter your profile info and security questions and answers.
  7. Follow the prompts to verify your account.
  8. Print or copy your email address, password, and security questions info, in case you forget your password.

Select Continue when you see the confirmation page.

Let us know if this helps.

Thank you,

Ancy, AT&T Community Specialist.

Hello @ATTHelp , that is not my problem. I have full access to my email account. The problem is that I do not have access to a different account that is connected to my current email account. Would it be possible to get in contact with the domain administrator? I need assistance with an email domain that does not exist: "@sbcglobal .com", AT&T owns the domain. Thank you for responding

Hey @ATTHelp , I tried using the resources provided in the previous reply & they do not work. I need to get in contact with AT&T's domain administrator because this is not something that can be resolved via normal chat or phone call from customer support. There has to be someone who has access to the domain: "sbcglobal .com" because I cannot receive a password reset to my current email which ends in "sbcglobal .net", thanks
