Access to a SBCGlobal Email Account
A year and a half ago my brother had a disabling stroke. He does not remember passwords to most of his accounts including his SBCGlobal email account. I was appointed his legal guardian on 5/2/22. I bought him a new iPad so he can use the many apps available to individuals suffering from aphasia. However, I don't know how to use his existing SBCGlobal email to set up the iPad without a password. I can submit my "letters of office" issued by the court system to prove my legal guardian status. Can you help me with this or should I just create a new email address? My only worry is the many accounts he already set up using his current SBCGlobal email account. How does one help a disabled individual access all these accounts?

Hi ColleenFitz348, we'd be glad to help you with your email inquiry, so you can set up your brother's iPad.
A good way to regain access to the email so that you can use it to set up the iPad is to reset the password with the forgot password option. Choosing the option to receive a temporary password is the best way to go so that your brother doesn't have to try to remember the answers to his security questions.
Just follow these steps:
As a side note, if your brother happens to already have an Apple ID that's not his Sbcglobal email, that's what you'll want to use to set up the iPad.
