Let's make sure your emails stop disappearing, @anwar!
Some email clients delete old emails over time. You may want to try changing your client settings to make sure they're not being deleted. You'll find instructions where it says Change your email client settings.
Please try that and let us know if that setting is enabled!

@anwar If the messages aren't in any other folder, you'll want to submit a request to have them recovered.
Keep us posted!

those are the basic steps they can recover only last 7 days
my question what is the default for the messages to stay in the yahoo mailbox
and how to change the number of days or month you can keep mail in the mailbox

@anwar Since the mail disappeared and wasn't sent to your trash folder, requesting a recovery is the best way to try to get it back, even though you can only recover mail from the last 7 days.
If you're using the POP email server, you'll need to switch to IMAP to make sure your emails stay on the server. Yahoo doesn't provide an option to change how long email is available in your inbox, and by default, the POP server deletes older emails.
Go to your account settings in Yahoo and make sure the incoming server is imap.mail.att.net and the outgoing server is smtp.mail.att.net.
We also suggest that you check your email on a different device to see if the messages are missing there as well. If they are, it's because of the POP server.
Keep us posted.

Import Yahoo to PST file format with the help of the safe and secure Yahoo Backup Software. This software is capable to create the complete backup from Yahoo account to outlook PST format. This software is completely free from any type of risk. It allows users to import Yahoo emails to PST without losing a bit if information.

Help ! I have exactly the same problem. Emails in the Inbox of my ATT account (Yahoo hosted), disappear automatically after 10 days. They are not in Deleted or Trash, or anywhere. I have had to ask for 7 day recovery five times and the process keeps happening. There is nothing in Yahoo Settings or ATT Settings that let me adjust anything or tell me what type of server is being used. Everything was fine for years and it just started up about 6 months ago. How do I fix it ?
