sbcglobal email account not sending receiving email on Iphone

I am attempting to set up my sbcglobal.net email on my iphone using mail. I have followed the steps I have seen online over and over and while the account is listed I keep getting an error that I need to go to Mail Account Settings because there's no password for the email. I select settings at the same prompt box and it takes me there. The password is filled in and when I finish it goes into verifying and spins over and over.

I am not sure if I am missing a setting or step elsewhere etc. I have deleted and readded multipole times and need them to work so I can have access to my mail when out of the office.

Hello Cjackie4cars,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We understand your concern and let's make up for the invested time.

We recommend that you try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Select Settings>Mail.
  2. Select Accounts>Add Account>Other.
  3. Select Add Mail Account.
  4. Enter your name, email, password, and select Next.
  5. Select IMAP.
  6. Ensure the Username is the full email address. Username and Password are the same for both Outgoing and Incoming Servers.
  7. Incoming Mail Server Host Name is http://sm.att.com/b0fa5228
  8. Outdoing Mail Server Name is http://sm.att.com/8e70eb96
  9. You may receive a prompt asking you to verify the servers. Click Continue for each or tap Details and then tap Trust.
  10. Tap Save.
  11. Choose the account you just created.
  12. Choose the SMTP Server.
  13. Doublecheck the SMTP settings and click Done.

Also, if you still have trouble sending or receiving emails on your iPhone with an SBCglobal email account, you can try the following steps to fix the issue.

    1. Reboot your device.
    2. Uninstall and reinstall the application on your device.
    3. Check the IMAP/POP configuration settings.
    4. Make sure your phone is connected to the network.
    5. Set the correct IMAP settings for SBCGlobal email on Android: Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server: http://sm.att.com/b6a38c88, Incoming port: 993.

If the issue still persists, please contact SBCGlobal email support providers.
