Releasing a subaccount

Can a subaccount be 'untied' from the main account to be used by the other person without affiliation to the main account that established it?

Like husband and wife had an @sbcblobal.net account.  Husband used the main email address, wife used a subaccount email address.  They divorce.  How can Wife move her email out from under the main account?

We're here to help address your subaccount concerns, @Question123456.

When it comes to managing subaccounts, you are unable to remove a subaccount from the main account that it is tied to. The most you can do is disable the subaccount, which you can do by following these steps:

  1. Go to your myAT&T Profile on a computer or tablet.
  2. Choose Account users.
  3. If you have more than one account, choose the account you want to manage from the dropdown.
  4. Select Manage subaccount users.
  5. Next to the subaccount that you want to change, select Disable. You can also enable a disabled subaccount.

We hope the information helps, and thanks for reaching out on the AT&T Community Forums!
