Managing Account for taking me to DirectStream old account

I have an old email address that works; I know the password, it works on my devices, etc. I only want to manage the account - update the name, and When I click "manage account," it goes to an old ATT/DirectStream account that was closed over 7 years ago. 

I tried subscribing to Yahoo! Mail Plus, thinking they would charge me, but I could then access the account, and no luck; I could not even use the Mail Plus subscription, and there is zero troubleshooting for those with this situation nor any chat support. 

Does anyone else have "manage your account" issues or have suggestions?

Hey @BetsyB, thank you so much for bringing this question to the Community! I would be more than happy to provide some more information regarding managing the account and how to change them through the myAT&T account.

Your AT&T Access ID can be set up as your phone number, email address, or custom. Changing your Access ID can be completed through the Profile tab under Sign-in Info. Keep in mind; it could take up to 24 hours for the new ID to update through the system.

First, make sure you know your current user ID (and password).

1. Go to your myAT&T profile. Sign in, if asked.

2. Choose Edit for your User ID in the Sign-in info section.

3. Enter your new ID in email address format (example:
