I want to delete my sbcglobal email accounts. I have 2. Can anyone help? The instructions per support do not help

I am logged into my sbc email account through At&T. I have gone through all of the options and tried to follow Support details but screens and links that they tell me about don't exist. I don't have a free AT&T account. I have an old sbcglobal account. Help!

We're here to assist with the deletion of your email, @bgarr2!

Just to ensure you're going through the steps correctly, we recommend that you view our article on deleting emails to make sure all steps are followed.

Keep in mind of this information when it comes to deleting emails:

  • You can delete your AT&T email address if it's been 30-60 days since a paid AT&T service has been canceled or disconnected.
  • You can delete a free AT&T email account that’s never been associated with a paid AT&T service.
  • You can’t delete your AT&T email address if it’s associated with an active AT&T service.
  • Deleting a Member ID will delete any subaccounts created with that account.

Let us know if this helps!

I have the same issue and the steps in the article on deleting emails does not match what is on the screen when you go to profiles. This happens a lot. Makes it hard to troubleshoot issues on your own. I want to delete my late husband's email but I couldn't because it would get rid of mine (both are old, old sbcglobal.net emails). I have created a new AT&T email (att.net) with the help of AT&T support and have move all my billing accounts over to the new email including AT&T. Should I be able to delete the old sbcglobal emails now? I will call into support to get assistance on that.

I have spent two hours on the phone with AT&T and they were not able to help me delete the two old old sbcglobal.net email addresses. My old email address is not attached to any paid AT&T services and hasn't been for several months. I tried to delete my deceased husband's account as well (and his email was never attached to any paid AT&T services) and same issue. Screen doesn't match the instructions and not able to delete. I want both remove but would be happy if mine was since it has been compromised and someone keeps trying to get into it and it gets locked up. Don't know what to do at this point.

Guess what - I figured it out! I knew that my account was a sub under my husbands. I was able to get to the correct screen under his email logon going through manage email  - mine kept taking me account to the MyAtt screen to log back in again. His took me to the screen that shows his email and the tab with my subaccount. Once I deleted his, it disabled mine!   Yay!!
