Getting spam at att.net
I have an sbcglobal.net email. For the past two weeks, I am getting up to 10 phishing emails a day in my inbox all directed to an att.net email. How can I rectify this?

Is the att.net address always the same? If so you could create a filter to snag them and move them to Trash.
If they'll all different (which is more likely because the Bad Guys aren't that dumb) then the reality is that you can't do anything about it.

I have also been getting lots of spam emails recently at my swbell.net address. I rarely got any in my inbox until a week or two ago.... now I'm reporting spam several times a day. Makes me wonder if at&t isn't updating a list, or has made some changes to the way they filter incoming mail. I'm sorry I don't have a solution for you.

We'd be happy to help you keep these spam emails from coming through, cc7372.
As our Ace mentioned, please let us know if the emails are coming from the same sender, or different senders.
If they're coming from one sender, you can block them by following these steps from your webmail inbox:
If they're coming from different email accounts, let us know so we can determine what your next steps should be.

We're not getting any help here, dobbswhit. Why are many of us getting this spam, period. Yes, we can filter and send them to junk but I want to know why this is happening at all. I don't them in junk, I want them stopped completely.

@sonnyboy43 Dream on. Nobody can stop all the spam and certainly not Yahoo who barely even tries.

tonydi, I get a few spam emails on gmail. Not many, just a few. My gripe is that the spam I'm getting with ATT.net, isn't my email address. Mine is sbc.net and these are showing up with my handle but the address they're sent to is my handle at att.net. I don't have an att.net account.

Let's get that spam under control, @sonnyboy43!
For dealing with the spam, we recommend performing one of the two options you mentioned, filtering or sending them to your junk mail. Once you mark enough as spam, the system can pick up on that and automatically sort them out in the future.
In regards to why you are getting the spam, there are multiple reasons as to why you can be getting the spam. There would not be a way to pin point why you are receiving the spam.
Thank you for choosing the AT&T Community Forums!

The TO: email address you can see doesn't really mean anything.
Let's say your sbc email address is [email scrubbed].
I could send email to you at that address but have it show up as being TO sonnyboy43@whateveriwantittobe, If you look at the full email header you'll see your sbc address in there someplace.
