Email to text messaging with AT&T

How do you send messages to AT&T using both text and images?  I know you have @txt.att.net for text messsages and @mms.att.net for images.  However, when I send a message with both text and images I get mixed results.

With 'txt', you get the code for the image.   For 'mms', you don;t get any body of the message.

Hello, @kbfaher. Thanks for reaching out to us about using our Email to Text feature. We know how important this feature is to our customers. We can help!

Email to text or text to email allows you to send a text, picture, or video message to a wireless number.

  • Text message - Compose a new email and enter the recipient's 10-digit wireless number, followed by @txt.att.net. For example, 5551234567@txt.att.net.
  • Picture or video message - Compose a new email and enter the recipient's 10-digit wireless number, followed by @mms.att.net. For example, 5551234567@mms.att.net.

Heads up: Don't include dashes or spaces in between the numbers.

You should be able to send both text, picture and video when sending a mms message. If the text is not showing up, try to compose a brand new message and let us know if it is still not showing the text.

Is this happening when you email-to-text other AT&T customers? This will let us pinpoint if it is a network issue or just a certain number that is not receiving the text and picture together.

If composing a new message doesnt resolve the issue, dont worry, we can still help you by doing more torubleshooting and investigating why you are getting mixed results when you send a email to text message that has both text and image.

Hi,

We have an issue when we send Email to Text using "mms.att.net" e.g. [email scrubbed]. Our members are getting the SMS but the text content which we supplied in the body is being received as an attachment. And we are NOT sending any attachments. Can you please let us know if we are missing anything from our side? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

-Avinash

I tried to send a message to my AT&T mobile phone number to get a text message (plain text, no image or video).  However, I got the following error message:

This is the PPE Hosted Dispatch mail system.

PPE Hosted tried to deliver your email message, but was unable to do so for reasons outside our control.

We recommend contacting the person or service responsible for looking after the recipient domain's email server directly.

The last error message we have available from the recipient's server is included right below, along with an extract of your

email:

<[email scrubbed]>: host

    att-e2xms-west.mx.a.cloudfilter.net[166.216.152.132] said: 550 5.2.0

    <[email scrubbed]> - so4hp2l0TyBYMso4hpgaK8 - Internal error (in reply

    to end of DATA command)

Help please!

I have tried to set this feature up as a forwarding filter but I am not getting the verify email to verify my number as a forwarding address. What am I doing wrong?

Doesn't work for me at all.

Address not found

Your message wasn't delivered to #########@mms.att.net because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail.

The response from the remote server was:

550 5.1.1 <##########@mms.att.net> recipient address rejected
