Email sound alerts

How do I get sound alerts for my company emails? In other words, company email arrives and I need a sound to alert me.

Hi there, wlynch4. We understand that you would like sounds to play when you get a specific email in your inbox. We can look at that together.

We do recommend, that you set your desktop notification options in your webmail.  Here is how you do that:

  1. Select the gear gear icon and then More Settings.
  2. Choose Notifications.
  3. Toggle Desktop Notifications on or off.

As for sounds, that all depends on the computer and speakers that you are using. Normally it is just a beeping sound for all emails, and a flash that goes across the bottom of the screen.

If you are not using the webmail and using an email client, the notifaction is depending the client used. For example, Thunderbird has a chime and it displays the email address from the sender.

Please let us know, if that is what you are looking for.

Are there other email management apps that would work with my sbcglobal.net email?

Thanks for reaching back out to us, @wlynch4

You can check out our information on how to set up your email account on an email client. There will be different email clients that you can choose in the drop-down menu that you can use with your email account.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
