Today several people have reported bounce backs when they email me at my bellsouth.net address

I cannot figure out why.  Please help.

Let's make sure those emails are being delivered, @deklaw

We recommend trying these email troubleshooting steps to make sure they're being routed correctly and not being blocked:

  • Be sure your email meets message size limits. If your email is too long, it may not be sent successfully.
  • Make sure you’re using the correct recipient email address. If you aren’t, you may get error messages like Failed Delivery or Problem Found - Message Not Sent.
  • Sign out of your email account, and then sign back in.
  • Check your spam folder for missing messages.
  • Review your settings. Select the gear icon, then check:
    • Blocked addresses: Make sure you aren’t blocking addresses you want to get email from.
    • Filters: Check that emails are going to the correct folder.
  • Confirm you haven’t been hacked. Your account may be compromised if you’re:
    • Missing emails
    • Receiving emails from your own email address
    • Getting complaints about spam coming from your email address
    • Seeing a display name that's different from the one you set up

Please let us know if this helps!

I have the same issue! I have several bellsouth.net email accounts and ALL are failing. I have received notice from a couple vendors that my account with them has been disabled because they don't have a valid email on file. This is causing a lot of problems. Please fix ASAP!

To be clear -the notices came to me via text message - since i cannot send or receive any email.

That message indicates a DNS problem getting the MX / A records for the mail server for the domain.  I ran a check using MX Toolbox on the BellSouth.Net domain and it seems to be configured well enough to allow delivery.  Perhaps it was a temporary problem.

Let us know if you have any other questions, and we'll be happy to help. Thanks for reaching out on the AT&T Community Forums!

AT&T thank you for the update, hopefully this is fixed soon. I would like to know - are all of the emails that have been sent today going to be delivered once this issue is fixed? Or are they lost?

Our engineers are working to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible, @shiggins_help.

As far as emails that have currently been sent, you may need to have them be re-sent once the issue is resolved. We're unable to guarantee whether or not emails that are being sent during this service interruption will be automatically delivered upon service restoration, so your best option is to have them be resent as needed.

Hope the information helps!

I seem to be getting emails again - at least I got 3 of them in the last hour.  So far there are at least 7 emails that were sent to me while it wasn't working that have NOT appeared (could be more - those are the ones I know were sent to me during that time).  I'm hoping they will appear eventually.
