Yahoo Email Haywire

I've been with Yahoo since the inception of the company but now have an issue/problem.  Our household all use Yahoo's email address as it was from the beginning with our e-address extension of "....@sbcglobal.net".  I'm sure I've read something in past email regarding an upcoming change in Yahoo, but never worried until now.  Here's the issue:  Accessing all my email via our family shared computer is working accordingly, receiving and sending email same as ever, but my husband's account went haywire!  He is unable to access his email for about a couple of weeks now.  Message would ask for Google ID & p/w, and AT&T sign-in.  When he tried to comply, it does not recognize his email address therefore, he is at a stand still.

Upon my attempt, noticed the downloading emails are addressed to my email address.  In other words, my emails were being directed to his email address.  The ones I could see, were duplicated as I have seen them.

I was able to get to his email at one point, but noted "downloading over 4,000 emails", therefore, I left it alone for the download taking overnight to download.  Next follow-up, download was still incomplete, so my best intuition was to close down his user account as the administrator to our family computer.

As the administrator I was able to "disabled" his Yahoo User account.  Tried to set-up another user account, but still cannot get email or send email.  Top of Mail account reads:  "read-only". but, since I deleted his account, I suspect there is nothing to read.

I think by disabling his user account, I messed the situation even worse.  What else can I do?

Hello @YahooJamUp

We understand you're having an issue with your email account.

Just to clarify a few things here, Is this an AT&T email account or yahoo?

Also, here is some information that can help  you get a better understanding about un-merger of email accounts.

How do I contact an ATT specialist who can help me with my Yahoo email account? Everything I have tried has taken me to a domain error.  Very frustrated!

Same problem!  I can no longer log into my yahoo account with my att.net address.  Yahoo says that I need to have the accounts unmerged, and that no history would be lost when email changes to @yahoo.com.  How do I unmerge and anyone have experience with what happens when addresses are unmerged?
