www.att.net no longer working
I have been using www.att.net for years for my web browser home page. I then use the "email" link to log into my email. For the past couple of weeks, the www.att.net automatically redirects to www.att.com. Then when I try to sign in, I get an error page. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, does anyone know how to fix this?
NOTE: I have been getting LOTS of emails supposedly from ATT Yahoo Email saying that I need to click on a link to update my email. The sender address is not an att.com nor att.net address so I assumed it was spam. Was this email real? Do I need to do what it says?
Thank you.

If they are asking you to click something it's called "phishing". But treat like spam. Don't click anything and just trash it. There's no "verifying" email.

This produces the same result. I get a webpage stating that AT&T is working to enhance my experience. I click on the link to go to email, attempt to sign in and get a screen with error messages on it. I determined that I can go to www.yahoo.com, click on email and get into my email.
I am using a bellsouth.net email address. I don't know if that is causing the problem or not. I just don't know what changed. It just seems weird that I have been getting so many messages from AT&T Yahoo Email address that has a sbcglobal.net email address. SBCGlobal is the parent company of AT&T email so it just seems logical that something changed. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I have not clicked on any link in the emails. The email address was from a sbcglobal.com and stated that there is an August 21st deadline. I did some research and SBCGlobal is the company that owns/manages AT&T and Yahoo email. Now today I got an email stating that my account may be closed by AT&T since I have not updated to AT&T Email version 7.1 . Is there an AT&T Email version 7.1?

There are no publicly displayed webmail version numbers. As I said any email you get threatening to close your accounts if you don't "verify it" are phishing and to be ignored.
And just an FYI, if wiki is to be believed...
In other words ATT is actually SBC simply renamed. As SBC gobbled up many of the other baby bells the kept ownership of those other service's email domains so that there are 11 domains that are "supported" by the att/yahoo webmail. When att and yahoo decided to unmerge the accounts from yahoo that's when many the problems for the legacy accounts started and apparently continue to this day. This is why the original suggestion to use att's home/portal page to log into att email accounts, not yahoo's. And due to the account problems introduced by the "great unmerge" (as I like to call it) that why there's a announcement near the top right of this page to change the account password in the hope (IMO) of getting the fouled up, and now unmerged account info, straighten up.

Having these issues with att.net and email. It is hit and miss. Been about a week. ATT If I cannot rely on the service I am paying for, please do no rely on my payment. AT&T, was this the "Enhanced Experience" you were going for?"
