Upgrading your Browser from IE11

Internet_Alert.png

To continue enjoying and maximizing your att.net email experience, we ask that you please upgrade to a new web browser.  In the near future, Internet Explorer 11 will no longer be supported, therefore we ask that you upgrade to the latest Firefox or Chrome Browser.  If you opt to continue using your existing Internet Explorer web browser your mail experience will revert to AT&T’s ‘Basic Mail’.

I wonder why the 2 "suggested" are Google products and therefore invasive, insidious, and know more about what's good for me than I do.  hmm.  Smelling a Rat..  No android phone w/o Google but it's never enough..

I am not sure but both seem to be Googleish and therefore invasive and will "assist" you from now on.

I did not like that they were the only ones' suggested. Note said IE11 would not be supported by AT&T services for Yahoo Mail?

Google something; buy it;  and see what ads show up in the margins while you check your email.  I had a Gmail account some years back while my wife was alive.  She changed it over for her use and I never knew the password.  After an automatic update It resulted in a locked phone that Google would not relinquish and T-Mobile could not unlock.  $300.00 Paperweight.

I guess Google control's everything & AT&T is too small to do anything about the bully.

About 18 hours ago I when I tried to get back on my email account I got the message that I had timed out and needed to log back in. I've tried many times and keep getting the below problem. I would have tried the below solution but I do not see the "Not you" anywhere so that I can click on it. I requested Yahoo to call me an hour ago but haven't heard anything and doubt that I will. I had no problem accessing my emails on this browser or Firefox. Any suggestions?

If you're caught in a loop where the sign-in screen keeps reappearing after you click "Sign in," you'll need to reset the "sign-in" cookie.

  1. 1. From the sign-in page, click Not you?
  2. 2. Enter your Yahoo ID and password.
  3. 3. Click Sign in.

CHROME WILL NOT DOWNLOAD.  IT SAYS THAT MY SECURITY SETTINGS WILL ALLOW THE FILE TO DOWNLOAD.

Over the past several years I have tried both of these browsers several times each. Both have promised to be faster, more reliable, and several other "improvements".. Initially. each has appeared to have some advantages.  HOWEVER, in the end, NEITHER stands the test of time compared to good old Internet Explorer.  IE has continued to do updates.  Now IE11.  as for the other two, both appear that over time additional side or sub programs are being added in an attempt to make them more user friendly.  UNFORTUNATELY, both of these browser get slower and slower to the point where they have become unusable and I have switched back to the trusted Internet Explorer.

That's my opinion, for what it's  worth.  Maybe you have better luck.

Thank your response! It's just odd that Chrome for some reason the past 2 days won't let me access several websites beginning with https; you would think it would not have issue with more secure websites!

neither I have used both and they have real issues.  Microsoft edge is better and comes with Windows 10.
