Trying to reset sub-account password but getting account linked message

When trying to reset my email sub-account password via the main account menu, keep getting "This sub-account is linked to an AT&T Access ID. You don't have permission to edit the password for this sub-account." How can I change the sub-account password? Seems alot of folks have asked this over the years, but no responses that actually work. Please advise.
