Thunderbird email application, can receive, cannot send.

I have used Thunderbird email for years. I have not changed password or settings.

I can receive email but can no longer send. I get password error message.

I have checked the server settings and they match the suggested settings.

Try forcing TB to prompt for the smtp password again.  Go into TB's security settings, click passwords to bring up the passwords, and delete the smtp password setting.  That will force TB to prompt for the password again the first time you try to get new messages.  Hopefully that will work.  If not, I'm not sure what's going on.
