There’s been an error importing contacts. Refresh Yahoo Mail and try again after sometime.

I am having an issue with my new att.net address importing contacts.  I'm using the contacts tab and attempting to import from outlook.com and google.  they fail with an error.  "There’s been an error importing contacts. Refresh Yahoo Mail and try again after sometime."

Been at it for two days now, same error.  also tried CSV outlook style and same error.  Tried, Chrome, FIrefox, and Edge too...

Any help would be awesome!

Hi @CCMTknical,

Sorry to read of the trouble you are having. A recommendation is deleting cache and cookies and trying. Internet Exploere is not recommend browser to use. Also, make sure you have the latest version of the explorer. In some instances, you will need the latest iOS to download it.

Last, using Chrome, click on the three bar at top-right, open a new window called "New incognito window", this will disable all add-ons. Go to http://mail.yahoo.com and login again. In the past, this has helped with most issues.

@ATTCares, Thank you for responding so quickly.  I have done as you’ve suggested.

Using Chrome’s incognito mode didn’t work either.  I think that the error is formed in the transaction of importing itself and that it’s server side.  I thought at first that it was maybe because my account was brand new or something but it’s not that.  Maybe somethings broken on my new att.net account??  I’ve even tried different devices to no avail.  Thoughts?

This Just In:  When I manually create a contact, the contact doesnt show in the contacts folder until i create another, then the 1st shows and the 2nd doesnt, rinse and repeat.

Also: I opened up my browser to mg.mail.yahoo.com completely trusting it Java, Plugins, Popups, even keys..  nothing.

Hi,

We did some research and found someone that was able to resolve their issue by doing the following:

1) I exported a yahoo csv to get the field format
2) I exported a outlook csv to get the field format
Then,
3) I manually moved (copy and pasted) the cells from the outlook csv into the corresponding yahoo csv. Then I uploaded the CSV into yahoo, and everything looked good.

Basically the mapping that yahoo is doing is all screwed up. I also had 0/00/00 in date fields, which i think might have created an error on the yahoo end of things.

Hope this helps.

Refresh Yahoo Mail and try again after sometime." when trying to import my contacts from Facebook. Any help with be much appreciated!?

Thanks,

Hi @rrs5026,

If possible, try testing with another E-mail account to see if the issue is isolated to your account or all accounts?

The use incognito window instructions also did not work for me. I have tried directly importing my yahoo email contacts into my AT&T email account AND also exporting the yahoo email contacts into a .csv file and importing the file into my AT&T email account - both fail with that same error message as original poster.

The unmerging of AT&T and yahoo email has been nothing short of a NIGHTMARE. I "get it" but it is a huge inconvenience to keep track of which account I'm in when both accounts use yahoo email as their underlying structure. I'm having to use my yahoo email account to send messages (which I've set to use my AT&T email account as the "reply to" because the contacts are there, but then I have to check for any new messages in my AT&T email account because that's where I've sent everything. If I could just get my contacts into my AT&T account, that would be AWESOME.
