sbcglobal on microsoft mail not sending

I just purchased a new laptop and was setting up the email on the Microsoft Mail Version 16005.14326.20858.0.  I have the smtp.mail.att.net correctly entered with the proper boxes checked and am using a secure key code but the email will not send.  I receive the email just fine but when sending it shows "sending" then it switches to "Still working on it..." and it never sends.  Any ideas?

I was able to correct this issue by going into my laptop settings, Apps, Apps & features, Mail and Calendar and clicking on repair.  Thank you for the help.

Here is more information on how to troubleshoot your email.

 

We suggest that you look at the section POP vs IMAP, as this will give you the correct settings that you need for your email.

 

There may be something wrong, that is causing those emails to not send properly.
