Need help syncing Notes between webmail and iPhone

I have successfully set up the Mail app on my iPhone to wirelessly sync with my legacy swbell.net personal email account. Presumably the AT&T email account is in IMAP format because if I delete an email from the AT&T/Yahoo webmail viewer the email is also automatically deleted from my iPhone.

Despite setting the iPhone to sync Notes wirelessly with the same swbell.net account, I cannot get the Notes to actually sync.  (Notes will automatically sync between my iPhone and work Outlook client which runs on a Microsoft Exchange server.)  Any suggestions?

After some further digging, I found the following information regarding syncing Notes between Yahoo accounts and iPhones.  In short, it appears that it is possible to partially "sync" Notes, but it is one-way (from iPhone to Yahoo), lands in a Yahoo email folder labeled "Notes", and is not editable in Yahoo (although still editable on iPhone and the updated Note will push out to Yahoo mail):

How the sync works
  • After you sync at least 1 note, a new folder called "Notes" is created in Yahoo Mail.
  • The notes are not editable from Yahoo Mail.
  • From the Notes app, tap Accounts in the top-left to switch between synced accounts.
Results of syncing iOS "Notes" app with you Yahoo Account
  • A "Notes" folder is created in your Yahoo Mail account, not your Yahoo Notepad. - Notes you create in the iOS "Notes" app under your Yahoo account will always appear in this folder.
  • This is a one-way sync from your iOS device to Yahoo. - If you add notes to the "Notes" folder in Yahoo Mail, you won't see them in your iOS device's Notes app.

In my opinion, the Yahoo solution is a workaround at best, but not a true "sync" of Notes.  Does anyone have a more functional true two-way sync solution for Notes short of buying an Exchange Server (or going Mac ...)?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions?

A bit dated, but here is another description of the Yahoo - iPhone "sync" of Notes:  http://www.everythingicafe.com/sync-ios-notes-gmail-yahoo/
