I have never had an account with AT&T. My mom did. I made a Yahoo email a long time ago and I'm locked out! I need someone to help me access it but when I speak to someone they say they can't help me because I don't have an account number!! I just need access to my freaking email!! I haven't been able to access it for weeks!!

Hello @Honeydlite

We certainly understand your concern and request for accessing an older Yahoo account/e-mail that you had.

When you call AT&T, please understand that we have to have specific information to provide support, therefore the request for an account number.

In addition, there are certain account authentication requirements that must be met. We just don't want to give out any specific information to unknown callers. That is a big security issue and we are keeping customer security/privacy in mind on all calls and interactions when it comes to customer service.

Usually to recover an email, you're going to need to have access to the AT&T Access ID and password for your account. If that is not available, it would need to be reset. You can go to and select "Forgot Password?" However, that would have to be done by the account holder which you mentioned is your Mother.

There is a possibility that you might find resolution through Yahoo support. Not knowing the specifics of your e-mail address and prior account details, it can be difficult to support; however, check out the Sign-in Helper via the yahoo page.

Without knowing your specific situation regarding account access and knowing prior credentials, this could be an issue that your Mother would need to resolve and work with you on; however, we're always available to provide as much support as we can.
