There are to versions (formats) for the att/yahoo webmail:

1. Basic - In the upper fight of the mail list pane you will see "Switch to the newest att.net Mail".  Click that to use Full Featured layout.
2. Full Featured - In the upper right you will see a gear.  Mouse over the gear to click settings.  In the Viewing Mail settings pane you will see Mail Version radio buttons to switch if you want to switch to Basic mail version.  Click the Save button to set the changed settings.
