Email mitigation notice. Scam?

I have had a bellsouth.net email for many years. I received a notice that looks very official regarding mitigation of Yahoo and ATT. when I inspect the "Yahoo" email address it is being sent from, it comes up as [email scrubbed]. This does not seem right to me. I did not click on "accept Terms & Conditions", However, I am now receiving emails. I tried sending one to myself as a test and it did not go through. I did send an email to my wife (another bellsouth.net) and she received it and I got her reply. I'm baffled.

Thanks for bringing this suspicious email to our attention, DucboyTroy.

To report the email, forward it to us at abuse@att.net so we can investigate it further. Make sure you include the full header so we can find out exactly where it came from.

To troubleshoot the matter of not receiving emails, follow these steps from our Login and Email Solutions guide:

  • Test using webmail - If you are able to sign in to your email via the web, the issue points to the app or mailbox you are using.

  • Mailboxes - We recommend using the latest version. Updates and changes may prevent it from working properly.

  • Rebuild mailbox profile - In some instances, rebuilding the profile fixes some issues. You may lose email doing this!

  • Change your settings from POP to IMAP.

  • Reset your secure key - This has helped resolve issue on the past, especially when signing into another client or troubleshooting your current one.

Let us know if this helped, of if you still need assistance.
